Congratulations to our recreational coach, Kris Newman on being selected as the 2023-2024 VYSA Girls Recreational Coach of the Year!

"Kris Newman has been an integral part of our recreational program for the past 10 years.  Over the years, I have seen Kris grow in his passion and love in helping young female players enjoy the game.  He is an excellent role model for our club who regularly promotes sportsmanship, player development, encouragement and integrity.  He constantly builds a 'family' team mentality by arranging regular team get togethers and meals during the season.  In his spare time, he also helps coach at a local school and volunteers to help with field needs at Hensley" - Incy Teoh, RKYSC Recreation Director.

"We are very proud of Kris and his achievement.  He was involved in our Coaching Mentorship program and was eager to learn and grow as a coach.  This recognition is a direct result from his growth as a coach and his ongoing desire to be a better coach for his players' - Perry Richards, RKYSC Director of Coaching Education.

We are fortunate to have such a dedicated volunteer coach with our club and excited to see that his love for soccer, the community and coaching has been recognized.  

Kris has also been nominated as a finalist for US Youth Soccer’s Girls Recreational Coach of the Year. The winner will be announced the week of November 18th.
