Our Week 12 Dick’s Sporting Goods Team of the Week is the U16 Boys Red Elite Team. They finished their 2023-24 season in style with a strong performance at the ECNL VA Showcase. The event pitted the Kickers against three ECNL national level teams and the boys certainly rose to the challenge winning two of their three matches.

The team started well with a convincing 3-1 victory over Fairfax Brave, then followed that up with a back and forth 3-2 win over Baltimore Celtic. The concluding match versus Florida's Space Coast United proved a bridge too far as the boys went down 1-0 in a very physical encounter.

Coach Leigh Cowlishaw commented, “After spending 3 years together, this was our last match as a group. It’s an amazing group of players and families and I look forward to watching their progress over the next few years.”
