Our Week 6 Dick's Sporting Goods Team of the Week is the U12G Elite Red team. The girls had their first experience playing 11v11 in a competitive game and performed valiantly. In a tight back and forth contest, Yoanni Benitez Castro broke the deadlock with a Goal of the Week nominated volley from outside of the box to help the team beat U12 Strikers Elite 1-0.  

"I could not be prouder of the group for the way they took on the challenge of playing 11v11 against one of the top teams in Virginia. Credit to the Strikers team for making the girls earn everything on the field, but I am so happy with the way the girls battled and competed for each other and held the belief that they could win the game. I am looking forward to finishing the spring off strong", Coach Scott Thomsen shared.
