Jefferson Cup Girls Showcase Recap:

U15 Girls Red:

Our U15 Girls Red team went 1-1-1 this weekend at the Jefferson Cup Showcase. Dakota Bingle stepped up to convert a penalty kick in the 1-1 tie with SUSA FC on Friday, followed by an emphatic 3-0 win on Saturday against New England Surf with goals from Emily, Posey and Zuri. This set up a showdown with Baltimore Celtic on Sunday morning with the winner advancing to the final, but our girls lost a hard fought game 1-0.

U16 Girls Red:

The U16 Girls Red started the weekend with a 1-1 tie against HEX FC Bucks followed by a 3-1 defeat against CFC ECNL RL on Saturday. 2-0 down on Sunday, the girls summoned energy from somewhere against the division champions SAC 2008 to pull a goal back and take the game all the way to the wire. A special mention to Addie Crim, returning from a fall season plagued with injuries with three goals in three games; this included dribbling round the keeper for a birthday goal on Saturday and a stupendous control and volley on Sunday!

U17 Girls Red:

The 2007s started the weekend with a close 1-0 loss to the SJEB ECNL National League team, champions of the division, before a high scoring 4-2 defeat to a very strong Canadian team, Ottawa TFC. The girls pulled together on Sunday to sign off with a superb 3-1 win against NJ Surf Shore. The weekend included three top performances against very high level opposition, with some great goals from Bridget Martin, Ally Pulliam and Gabby Linkonis as well as top class defensive displays from Abby Holmes and Emily Ward!

U19 Girls Red:

The U19 Red team signed off their Kickers careers with two wins and a loss at this year's Jeff Cup. The girls went 1-0 down early on Friday versus Stony Brook United, before bouncing back with goals from Grace Orecchio, Layla Royster and Mac Shea. Saturday saw a convincing 4-1 victory against FC Stars Lancaster with Grace Orecchio, Grace Minton, Mac Shea and Molly Muir on the score sheet. Sunday was in effect a championship game against A3 Soccer Royals and unfortunately a combination of a very frustrating offside trap, super windy conditions and for many players five games in six days were just too much to overcome with the girls dropping a tough 2-1 loss.
