Our week three Dick’s Sporting Goods Team of the Week is the U11 Girls Red Team. They had an exciting weekend in the prestigious Jefferson Cup finishing with a 1-1-1 record and just missing out on a chance to play in Sunday afternoon's final. The girls competed hard, in difficult rainy conditions against excellent teams, from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. The highlight of the weekend came in the last game on Sunday morning. Finding themselves down 3-0 in the first half going against the wind, the girls rallied around each other to get themselves back in the game to eventually tie the game at 3 with 5 minutes left. With the last kick of the game, the girls found a way to find a winning goal and come out victorious (4-3) to get a well-deserved win after a fun and exciting weekend of soccer.

“I am very proud of the group for showcasing their toughness and resilience in difficult playing conditions this weekend. These experiences are so good for the girls and their developments. It was awesome to watch them come back on Sunday and get the win they deserved” commented Coach Scott Thomsen.
