July 7, 2021 (Richmond, VA) - The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club will be hosting a series of sold-out US Soccer Coaching Education courses through Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) this month. The courses being offered are the US Soccer Grassroots in-person 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11 at Ukrop Park.
Perry Richards, Kickers Director of Rec Coaching Education, began discussions with VYSA on becoming a host for US Soccer courses in early June. “When I was looking at the different locations for other courses being offered, I realized there was no central location for many of the clubs in Virginia,” said Perry. “With Richmond being more centrally located, I hoped that this would entice coaches to sign up because traveling long distances can be a deterrent for coaches taking courses, unfortunately. One of my ongoing objectives is to provide as many coaching education opportunities as possible to our coaches and even coaches throughout Virginia. We also wanted to host three different courses so coaches could complete their prerequisites for the D License. As of yesterday, I was informed that all three courses are fully booked up and I am beyond happy with this news.”
‘We are so excited to have this opportunity to host Grassroot courses and to see more coaches, at all levels, interested and pursuing ongoing coaching education” commented Incy Teoh, Kickers Recreational Director. It is great to see the turnout for these courses, especially during a busy summer. I believe it shows a strong desire for more coaching education in Virginia.”
Each course will have one virtual meeting and one two hour in-person session at Ukrop Park. The 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11 courses will take place on July 17th, July 24th & July 31st, respectfully. For more information on US Soccer courses please click HERE
