Kickers U9-15 Travel Teams to Restart June 6th

U9-U15 Kickers Families,

We have exciting news to share...Over the last two months our staff have been working diligently to create a safe, responsible and deliverable return to play plan. We are delighted to announce that on June 6th our U9/10 through U15 Richmond Kickers travel teams (2019-20 season) will restart spring practices and continue training sessions through July 2nd.  We will also be providing information regarding complimentary summer technical training in the near future.

During the four-week practice period all VA State phase one guidelines will be followed ensuring the utmost safety for all involved. Practices will incorporate social distancing, non-contact drills, smaller practice groups and will focus on ball mastery, moves, speed and agility, and general fitness. In addition, all practices will be conducted at Ukrop Park.

Each travel team will receive two 45 minute practices per week for 4 weeks (8 total sessions). While the practice may not include your current coach, all sessions will be conducted by our full-time technical staff and program specific coaches.

It is important to note that having your child return to practice is completely voluntary and we understand if your family chooses not to participate at this time.

Adhering to the Return to Play guidelines will require a collaborative relationship between the Club, Coach, Player and Parent. Following the protocols will allow our players to return to practice in a safe environment that minimizes the risk for all involved.

Once you have reviewed the information please complete the short survey by Wednesday, June 3rd informing us whether your child will participate. The technical staff need this information to plan small group practices accordingly. CLICK HERE

It will be a great feeling for players, parents and coaches to finally get back on the field! As always please don’t hesitate to contact your program director if you have any questions or concerns.

Best Regards,
Leigh Cowlishaw
