Kickers Announce New Tryout Process & Full Coaching Slate

RICHMOND, Va. – (Wednesday, April 15th, 2020) – The Richmond Kickers are delighted to announce our full 2020-21 travel soccer coaching staff and upcoming tryout process. Committed to providing an unparalleled soccer experience for club members, the Richmond Kickers are RVA’s top travel program, fielding teams in the U9/10 to U19 age groups for both boys and girls. The travel teams are coached by nationally licensed coaches along with current and former Kickers professional players.

New Tryout Process:

Regular tryouts scheduled for April/May are cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Program directors have been busy communicating with team coaches and are ready to make roster selections based on performance, effort and attitude during the player’s 2019-20 season. Players interested in joining our club should register for tryouts then email the program director as soon as possible.

The new selection process is as follows:

  • All players that plan on returning or joining the club should register for tryouts by April 26, 2020.
  • Players not planning to return should email their program director as soon as possible. (Deadline of April 21, 2020).
  • Players from outside the club should register for tryouts then email the program director as soon as possible.
  • We will announce U10-U19 team rosters by May 4, 2020.
  • To secure your spot the acceptance registration process must be completed by May 15, 2020.
  • Supplemental tryouts will be held for new players once allowed.

The Richmond Kickers Technical Staff is comprised of Ross MacKenzie, ADP, U9/U10 and Futsal Director (USSF “B”), Michael Burke, U11-U14 Director (USSF “B”), Andy McIntosh, U15-U19 Girls Director (USSF “A”) and Mark Stollsteimer, U15-U19 Boys Director, (NSCAA Premier), Owusu Sekyere, Director of Technical Development and Camps, (USSF “C”), under the continued guidance of Leigh Cowlishaw, Executive Director , (USSF “A”). 

With a combined 70 years of experience, the Richmond Kickers Technical Staff guides the club through innovative and high-quality youth development programming and excellence in coaching, while providing the highest level of customer service and building upon the club’s unassailable reputation for success on and off the field
