Lead by Coaching Educator Perry Richards

RICHMOND, VA – (Friday, February 14, 2019) – In an effort to enhance the experience of our Recreation players through our coaches, the Richmond Kickers Youth Club has introduced a coaching education program for our Recreation coaches. Lead by our Coaching Educator, Perry Richards, our objective through coaching education is to provide the most effective and fun learning environment for our players. We believe playing the game of soccer is the fundamental requirement of player development. We want to educate our coaches by providing them with the tools and resources needed to allow our players to experience the beautiful game.

“I am really looking forward to getting to know our coaches and be a resource for them whenever they need it,” commented Richards. “Coaching education has been a passion of mine that I developed from coaching for the New York Red Bulls. “Coaching education is a priority for the Richmond Kickers organization, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Richards will also oversee our Kickers Rec All Star program, which now includes a second location at Bryan Park. This program will feature an experienced & professional coaching staff that will teach the U8, U10 & U12 age groups. Richards will be directly involved in providing the most current methods and practices from the United States Soccer Federation to our coaches. He will be available at specific Kickers Rec locations throughout the Spring season on Wednesdays for six weeks, observing and assisting in sessions to demonstrate new ideas for current coaches.

"Coaches play an invaluable role in our recreation program,” said Incy Teoh, Kickers Rec Director. “As volunteers, many give of their time to help inspire the love of soccer among our recreation players.  I am excited to have Perry come on board to support and provide education to all our recreation coaches.”
