U14 Boys Elite and U16 Girls Elite Will Travel to Colorado

RICHMOND, Va. – (Friday, July 12, 2019) – The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club will have two teams competing for national championships. Currently, the U16 Girls Elite team is in Denver for the National Premier League Finals July 11-14. The U14 Boys Elite team will make the trip to Colorado July 19-23 for the 2019 National Cup XVIII.

The U16 Girls Elite has a remarkable fall season. They topped the Virginia NPL Girls U16 division with an unbeaten eleven wins and one tie, scoring 56 goals and conceding just 3. They also won the Virginia State Championship, playing four games and not conceding a goal all the way up to a 4-0 victory in the final. They opened up their tournament by taking a 2-0 win over Manhattan SC Charge 03G. The girls are back in action Friday against Tonka Fusion Elite 03G.

Winning the Virginia State Cup paved the way for the U14 Boys Elite to punch their ticket to the National Cup. Coached by former Kickers pro academy signing Evan Fowler, the team scored 17 goals and only conceded twice as they marched to the title, including a 2-0 victory in the Championship game over Villareal Virginia Academy. The boys will open up their tournament July 19 as they take on FC Hawaii 05B.
